5. Is Resident Evil 5 Racist? *Open*

Sorry, I don't know If I can or can't start a hot topic.. but I guess I would like to start one. (if it's ok can it be the 5th?)

I got my copy of Resident Evil 5 on March 13th (the day it came out) stayed up all night and beat it the next day. Now, before I bought it, I had been following it since it's first scenes that I saw in 2006. And THAT is when people started calling the game racist because it is set in Africa, and you shoot black zombies.

Now for my opinion on this whole thing. Having played Resident Evil 5 all the way through, I would have to say that the game is not racist at all. I think what it does is it takes peoples insecurity's and places it right in front of them. Like in the opening scene, it shows a few African children beating up an animal in a bag, with sticks. I wouldn't say that is racist, because, you know.. that stuff actually happens in parts of Africa, and to tell you the truth, capcom could have made it even MORE brutal on the African's side, but didn't because of all of the lawsuits that have followed due to it being "Racist". Also, its not like Africans have a gene to make it impossible for them to become infected and become zombies. I mean one of the problems I really have, is that in all of the other Resident Evil games, we have killed every other race (I mean really, In Resident Evil 4 we where shooting Hispanic villagers, but nobody had a problem with that now did they?). My main point is, everybody should just lay off of capcom for making a game where you actually have to shoot black zombies ugh.. I could go on and on about how it pisses me off that it's o.k to kill a white/hispanic zombie, but the second you kill a black one, its rasist, but I'd much rather hear from you guys.

I dont think it's racist at all... Things could've been more brutal, as you said... There are also Africans on the good side, so its not like they're all zombies, and white people are the only ones killing them...

And the scene with the kids beating up the animal... People abuse animals everywhere. It wasnt important to show, but its not like Africans are the only ones to do it...

And I'm not sure where exactly my post is going... So I'm just gonna leave it at that.

i have only played the demo on my friends 360 but i really don't think its racist because there are some good Africans.
